How RiVöt TankMaster Works
RiVöt TankMaster is a contactless RV tank monitoring system designed specifically for retrofit installations on existing RVs.
Instead of placing probes inside the tank, TankMaster sensors mount externally to the outside wall of the tank using adhesive attachment. Because the sensors never contact the tank contents, they are not affected by residue buildup, corrosion, or fouling over time.
Multiple sensors can be installed on a single tank to improve accuracy across varying tank shapes and sizes. Sensor readings are processed by the TankMaster unit and transmitted wirelessly to the TankMaster mobile app, providing real-time tank level information directly on your phone or mobile device.
TankMaster connects via Bluetooth for everyday use, with optional Wi-Fi support for extended range and integration. All configuration, calibration, and alert thresholds are handled through the app, allowing the system to adapt to your specific RV and usage patterns.

What Makes TankMaster Different
Most RV tank monitoring systems rely on outdated sensor designs or assumptions that don’t hold up in real-world use. TankMaster was designed from the ground up to solve those limitations.
Unlike traditional internal probes, TankMaster uses external, contactless sensors that never touch the tank contents. This eliminates common failure modes caused by residue buildup, corrosion, and fouling over time.
TankMaster also supports multiple sensors per tank, allowing readings to be tailored for different tank heights and shapes. This provides more consistent and repeatable level measurements compared to single-point sensors.
Configuration is handled entirely through the mobile app, rather than fixed hardware thresholds. Alert levels, tank types, and sensor behavior can be adjusted to match your RV and how you actually use it. Firmware updates allow the system to improve over time without replacing hardware.
The result is a tank monitoring system designed for retrofit installation, long-term reliability, and real-world accuracy — not just laboratory conditions.

Why RV Tank Monitoring Is Harder Than It Should Be
Most RV tank level systems are frustratingly inaccurate. Factory-installed probes often foul over time, internal sensors require drilling into tanks, and many aftermarket solutions rely on a single measurement point that can’t account for irregular tank shapes.
RV owners are left guessing:
• Is the tank actually full, or just triggering a bad sensor?
• Is it safe to keep using water, or is a dump overdue?
• Why does the reading change while parked?
These problems are especially common with black and gray tanks, where residue buildup and inconsistent tank geometry make traditional internal probes unreliable. Drilling into an existing tank also creates long-term leak risk — something most RV owners want to avoid entirely.
Tank monitoring shouldn’t require invasive installation or blind trust in unreliable readings. It should be accurate, repeatable, and easy to retrofit on an existing RV.
Frequently Asked Questions
Yes. TankMaster sensors mount externally on the outside of the tank, so they are not exposed to waste, residue, or buildup inside the tank. This makes TankMaster well suited for black, gray, and fresh water tanks. Not compatible with metal tanks, tanks with heavy mineral or salt buildup behind the sensor mounting area, or tanks used with saltwater flush systems that leave salt deposits on the tank wall.
TankMaster works with non-metallic RV tanks, including common materials such as polyethylene and ABS. The system is designed to operate through tank walls up to approximately 15 mm thick.
Not compatible with tanks that have been used with saltwater flush systems that have salt or mineral buildup on the tank walls.
Metal tanks are not supported, as metal blocks the sensing technology used by TankMaster.
No. TankMaster installs externally and does not require drilling or penetrating the tank wall. Sensors attach using adhesive mounting, making it ideal for retrofit installation on existing RVs.
Yes. TankMaster supports the use of multiple sensors on a single tank, allowing readings to be averaged across different tank heights and shapes. This improves accuracy compared to single-point sensors.
No. Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) is sufficient for normal operation and everyday monitoring. TankMaster supports optional Wi-Fi connectivity for extended range and integration.
TankMaster works with modern iOS and Android devices through the TankMaster mobile app for both phones and tablets.
Yes. Each TankMaster unit is configured for a specific tank, and multiple tanks can be monitored within the app, such as fresh, gray, and black tanks.
