Bluetooth Pairing & Re-Pairing TankMaster

Bluetooth Pairing & Re-Pairing TankMaster

Overview

TankMaster pairing is performed inside the TankMaster app.
You do not pair TankMaster through your phone’s Bluetooth settings.

Each TankMaster has a unique Bluetooth device name that begins with TM-,
which is printed on the back of the sending unit.

When You Need This

  • First-time setup
  • Pairing an additional TankMaster
  • Reconnecting after power loss
  • Using a new phone or tablet

Before You Start

  • Ensure the TankMaster is powered on
  • Have the TankMaster app installed
  • Know the TM-XXXX Bluetooth name printed on the unit
  • Be within a few feet of the TankMaster

Power-Up Indicators

  • Battery units: Blue LED flashes briefly when awake
  • 12V units: Blue/green alternating LED when idle

How to Pair a TankMaster (In-App Pairing)

  1. Open the TankMaster app
  2. Select the tank you want to pair
  3. Tap the option to pair the tank to a TankMaster
  4. A list of nearby TankMaster units will appear
  5. Select the device that matches the TM-XXXX name on your unit

Once paired, the app will remember the TankMaster and reconnect automatically
when it is within range.

If No Devices Appear

  • Confirm Bluetooth permission is enabled for the app
  • Move closer to the TankMaster
  • Wait for the unit to wake up (battery units)
  • Verify the blue LED flashes periodically

Battery-Powered Units (Important)

Battery-powered TankMasters sleep to conserve power.
They only advertise Bluetooth when awake.

  • You may need to try pairing more than once
  • Wait for the blue LED to flash before retrying
  • Patience helps 🙂

Re-Pairing a TankMaster

If pairing worked previously but no longer connects:

  1. Power-cycle the TankMaster
  2. Open the TankMaster app
  3. Select the tank again
  4. Repeat the in-app pairing steps

Re-pairing is performed in the app, not in phone Bluetooth settings.

What Pairing Issues Are Not

  • Not related to sensor mounting
  • Not related to tank contents
  • Rarely caused by firmware issues

Tips for Best Results

  • Pair one TankMaster at a time
  • Use the printed TM-XXXX name to identify devices
  • Stay close during pairing
