Firmware Updates

Keeping your RiVöt TankMaster firmware up to date ensures you have the latest features, performance improvements, and reliability enhancements. Firmware updates may include improvements to Bluetooth pairing, Wi-Fi connectivity, sensor behavior, battery/power management, and app compatibility.

How Firmware Updates Work

Firmware updates are installed directly to the TankMaster using the RiVöt TankMaster App.

The update is transferred locally from your phone or tablet to the TankMaster using:

• Wi-Fi (preferred when both devices are on the same network)
• Bluetooth (used automatically if Wi-Fi is unavailable)

No cloud connection is required between the TankMaster and the app during installation.

Before Updating

Before starting a firmware update:

• Ensure the TankMaster is powered by a stable 5V USB power source
• Keep your phone or tablet near the TankMaster
• Do not unplug power during the update
• Keep the TankMaster App open until the process completes
• If using Wi-Fi, ensure both the app device and TankMaster are on the same Wi-Fi network

Checking for Updates

1. Open the RiVöt TankMaster App
2. Select your paired TankMaster
3. Open Settings
4. Navigate to Device Management
5. The current firmware version will be displayed
6. If a newer version is available, an Update Firmware option will appear

Installing the Update

1. Tap Update Firmware
2. Confirm the update prompt
3. The firmware file will transfer to the TankMaster
4. The device will verify the update
5. The TankMaster will automatically restart when complete

During restart, LEDs may flash or cycle normally.

After the Update

Once complete:

• Reconnect to the TankMaster in the app
• Confirm tank readings are updating normally
• Verify Wi-Fi reconnects automatically (if previously configured)
• Confirm firmware version now shows the new release

All tank settings and pairing information are normally retained during updates.

If the Update Fails

If an update does not complete:

1. Leave power connected
2. Wait 60 seconds
3. Reopen the TankMaster App
4. Reconnect to the TankMaster
5. Retry the update

If needed, power cycle the TankMaster by unplugging and reconnecting USB power.

Troubleshooting Tips

Update Not Found

• Ensure internet access is available on your phone/tablet
• Use latest version of the TankMaster App

Transfer Is Slow

• Move closer to TankMaster
• Use Wi-Fi instead of Bluetooth if available

Device Does Not Reconnect

• Wait up to 1 minute after reboot
• Refresh device list in the app
• Cycle power if needed

Important Notes

• Do not disconnect power during an update
• Do not close the app during installation
• Firmware updates may take several minutes
• Existing tank calibration and pairing settings are normally preserved
