Using the App to Monitor Your Tank
Once your TankMaster has been paired and configured using the Setup Wizard, the RiVöt TankMaster App provides real-time monitoring, historical tracking, and smart usage insights.
You can monitor your tanks whether you are:
– Connected nearby via Bluetooth, or
– Accessing updates over Wi-Fi
Real-Time Updates
The TankMaster app continuously communicates with your device to keep tank readings current.
– The app operates in both the foreground (when open) and background, maintaining a low-power connection for periodic updates.
– When a sensor crosses a threshold (for example, when the liquid level rises above or drops below a sensor position), the TankMaster immediately sends an update to the app.
– This ensures that tank level changes are reflected as they happen.
Tank Level Display
The main dashboard displays the current levels for:
– Fresh water
– Gray water
– Black water
Each tank is represented by a vertical gauge for quick, at-a-glance status.
Tank levels update automatically based on sensor activity and calibration settings configured during the Setup Wizard.
Understanding Tank Level Behavior
TankMaster uses discrete sensors positioned along the tank, so readings update in steps rather than as a continuous percentage.
What Normal Behavior Looks Like
|
Behavior |
Explanation |
|---|---|
|
Level jumps (e.g., 50% → 75%) |
Normal — the fluid crossed the next sensor position |
|
No change for a period of time |
Normal — fluid level is between sensors |
|
Immediate update when filling or draining |
Normal — sensor threshold was crossed |
|
Slight delay in updates |
Normal — depends on connection (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) and update interval |
When Something May Be Wrong
|
Behavior |
Possible Cause |
Recommended Action |
|---|---|---|
|
Tank always reads full or empty |
Sensor misplacement or sensitivity issue |
Re-run Setup Wizard |
|
One sensor never changes state |
Sensor not positioned correctly or not detecting |
Check mounting and re-run calibration |
|
Readings inconsistent or erratic |
Calibration mismatch or tank buildup |
Run Sensor Calibration Wizard |
|
No updates in app |
Connection issue (Bluetooth/Wi-Fi) |
Check device power and connection |
Tip:
If readings appear incorrect, the fastest fix is to re-run the Setup Wizard, which will verify placement and recalibrate all sensors.
